Risk Magazine is one of its flagship publications of Incisive Media, a global digital media business with a portfolio of B2B brands and events. The senior management team approached us to review the quantitative investment analyst market, which sits at the core of the Risk community, and to create a profitable event offering.
We analysed the competitor and media marketplace for quantitative finance, undertaking in-depth telephone and in-person research with a substantial number of quants, traders, risk managers, portfolio managers and other financial and technology executives dealing with pricing, hedging and credit risk modelling in the global derivatives sector.
From this, we took a small event – Math Week – and reincarnated it as the Quant Summit, creating an advisory board of leading lights in academia as well as finance and technology. The event grew from a small workshop into a star event in the Incisive Media portfolio. Beginning in New York, the event was geo-cloned to Quant Summit Europe, and has now been running profitably for a number of years.
These events – Quant Summit Europe and Quant Summit USA – are still going strong, with meaningful sponsorship revenue, as well as continuing to create an in-person community around the media publications.

In 2017, Incisive Media sold its Insight division, which includes the Risk.net and Insurance Post brands, to French business-to-business (B2B) publisher Infopro Digital.
