A magic-themed cocktails and canapés reception for an actuarial firm hosting their clients and contacts for a summer party at the Magic Circle Headquarters in London, with a close-up magician, harpist and private tours of the Magic Circle Museum.
A hidden gem of a venue tucked away behind Euston station, it surprised and informed guests through both the unusual collection and the history of magic.
Welcoming over fifty guests in the Members Room, our clients’ team greeting them and giving them name-badges, guests then walked up the impressive floating spiral staircase (don’t worry, there’s also an accessible lift), to the party in the Devant Room. Clients were entertained by our harpist and a magician, and enjoyed a short welcome address and themed cocktails.
We dressed the room with uplighters and sparkly black cloth, and our guests were given a choice of cocktails – a classic Pimms or a Magic Gin Sling (we know that gin is the drink of choice this summer) as well as Italian Prosecco, Argentinean Malbec, Australian Chardonnay and premium bottled lager. We served canapés including caramelised onion tarts with grilled goat’s cheese, sun-blushed tomato and basil arancini, blinis topped with Wasabi mayonnaise and seared tuna, Thai fish cakes with a ginger and spring onion dipping sauce, crostini with Salsa Verde and seared fillet steak and sausages wrapped in Pancetta and sage with a cranberry dip, followed by a sweet taste of macarons and custard tarts.
We created an evening of wonderful food, drink and conversation for guests, in a convivial atmosphere, hosted specially organised tours of the Magic Circle museum by a hand-picked guide for our audience – an experienced historian with a PhD in the history of magic – and selected an award-winning roving close-up magician, one of only 300 members of the Inner Circle, who entertained the guests. As the event was an informal showcase of our client’s technology offering, we briefed the magician to create a magic experience where the logo for the new technology was magically attached to the final card at the end of the trick – to the delight of all. Guests even attached their “winning cards” to their badges.
Our team created on-brand goodie bags to say thank you to guests – with brand-colour chocolate truffles hand-tied in cellophane and a postcard sharing more information about the new technology offering.
The Business Narrative organised everything: selecting the venue, caterer and entertainment, briefing the invitation creative, specifying high quality print, designing the digital travel directions, event signage and cocktail menu cards, badges, and briefing on attendees. Our experienced team ran the event on the night, managing logistics, production, entertainment, food and beverage, specialist insurance and health and safety, and handled and shaped the event flow.
The client feedback was excellent:
